AXPONA 2019 marked the 10th Anniversary of the show, which was an exciting one for Kevro as we showcased Monitor Audio's latest 5th generation Gold Series for the first time in the US. Joining the Gold 200 floorstander and Gold 100 bookshelf models in our active demonstration was Roksan's flagship blak series electronics, which included the blak Integrated Amplifier ($4,499) and the blak CD Player ($3,999).

Our active Demo attracted many listeners eager to hear the superb combination of Monitor Audio's new Gold Series with Roksan's blak Series. John Atkinson, Technical Editor at Stereophile, also stopped by the room to hear our Demo. John called the sound of the Gold 200s "transparent, with clean high frequencies and well-controlled lows."

The Gold 300 was also on display, showing off the luxurious Piano Ebony finish which can now be ordered at regular price, compared to the previous generation of Gold which offered the Piano Ebony finish at a premium cost.

For the first time, Gold features the technology used in Monitor Audio's flagship Platinum II loudspeakers. The Platinum II drivers have been specially re-developed and honed for Gold and they are secured inside the well-damped cabinets using Monitor Audio's renowned single bolt mechanism to give a clean appearance.

The rounded vertical edges of the cabinets combined with the sharp profile of the horizontal lines give a classic and timeless appearance. A soft touch panel on the top of the speakers (stand mount and floorstanding) adds a further sophisticated appeal to the Gold series. With their stunning looks, premium feel and high-end sound, the Gold series offers a fulfillment for the senses. Their performance is articulate, clear, smooth and easy on the ear.
